Civil Engineering

Be it in traditional fields like building construction above or below ground, horticulture, and landscaping or in specialized fields like tunneling, water engineering, railway construction, or bridge building: Known solutions are continuously refined with the aim to achieve technical and economic aspects. This applies for example to newly developed construction materials and new combinations of construction materials, or to new building components or new methods of constructing buildings or components thereof. In particular when developing systems in the fields of building insulation, sealing of buildings, or building facades, substantial advance investments often are required for the development, testing installations, and regulatory purposes. Economically, such expense only makes sense if the newly developed system can effectively be protected from copying by patents.
