IP Strategy

A solid intellectual property (IP) strategy should start from a company’s global strategy and implement it in IP matters. It includes guidelines for IP filings, IP maintenance, and enforcement. It also should cover the topics of “freedom to operate” and patent monitoring.

Other elements of an IP strategy include cost management, standards of obligations in employment and collaboration contracts, licensing guidelines, and Open Source and Open Innovation policies, to name just a few.

To implement a strategy, responsibilities have to be defined, workflows may need updates, and training can be useful.

There is no one-size-fits-all IP strategy, but our strategy team has a strong expertise to provide you with advice and support where you need it.
