Career and Experience
Studies in physics at the Universities of Bayreuth and Heidelberg. Diploma thesis at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL Heidelberg) on the development and characterization of novel fluorescence microscopy techniques for the biosciences. Doctoral thesis in physics at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zurich) on the simulation, development, and characterization of various fiber-optic-based technologies for high-resolution brain imaging. Research projects at Arizona State University, Tempe, AZ (USA) and at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA (USA).
Practicing patent law since 2010 with core activities in physics, mechanics, electronics, and optical engineering. Admitted as European Patent Attorney since August 2014. In 2014-2015: Diploma in “Patent Litigation in Europe” at the University of Strasbourg. Admitted as Swiss Patent Attorney since April 2022. Representative before the UPC (“European Patent Litigator”) since March 2023.
Joined E. Blum & Co. AG in 2010, partner of the firm since May 2022.
